Olsen, Hans (b. ABT 1813, d. ?)

Note: Found this person living with his family on farm of Bukskind, Lenvik, Troms, Norway.

Around this time (middle 1800's) the government was encouraging Norwegians to stop, the patronymic naming system. It took awhile for this practice to catch on. A few the people were starting to keep the same surname for all of their children and family. Apparently this family is not using the Patronymic naming practice, as all the children are using the surname of their father "Olsen" instead of the patronymic naming practice which would have had the childrens surname of "Hansen/ Hansdatter"
