Note: This family immegrated to America in 1853. On board the ship there was an out break of cholora. The wife Maja Christina, the children #3 Johan,
#5 Hedda Carolina, and #6 Lovisa all died at sea and were burried at sea. It is my understanding that the mother-in-law was also traveling with them and she also died. Also told that because of this Sven became quite imbittered and dealt very sternly with the other children. Carl and Per both left home quite young and joined the army during the civil war. they fought with the Union Army.

Sven Berggren lived in Ostana, Grenna County Parish when he got married to Maja Stina Persdotter, and is noted huntsman. In 1842 he is noted as forester, 1844 gardner and 1846, 1848, 1850 Forester.
