are direct ancestors of Karen Annette HendricksonGrundt, William (b. 1819, d. ?)
Note: I received this information from several newspaper articles written in the "Finnmark Dagbad" newspaper, written by "Ole Johan Valle" of Hammerfest, Norway. The articles were printed in 1981 over a period of many weeks. While on the inter-net, a related Ulich wrote me and gave me Ole's e-mail address. Ole wrote to me and said that he just wanted to do these articles on the Ulich family, as the Ulich family had been very prominent in Norway years ago, and he wanted to follow the family. I received these articles from a uncle of mine while I was visiting Norway, however they were in Norwegian. I was able to extract out the names of my close family and record them, but the other names and information I was not able to translate. I tried to get these articles translated many times over a period of many years. Then one day Susan Ulich Jaeger wrote to me on the inter-net and said that she had these newspaper clippings translated and printed out in a book report form. She graciously sent me a copy of the translated articles.
Shop keeper, William Grundt, was born in Trondheim, Sør-Trondelag, Norway in 1819 and died in Berlevåg, Tana, Finnmark, Norway 28 Sep 1842. He was married in Tana to Oline Magdalena Bræckan on 20 May 1842. She was the widow of shopkeeper in Berlevåg, Tana, Wilhelm Fredrik Wrested. He got a license to run a business in 1838, but in 1840, he disappeared at sea with two other men, he was only 25 years old. William Grundt got a business license in Berlevåg on 12 July 1843. Oline Magdalena Grundt was born in Stjørdalen in 1810 and died in Tromsø, Troms, Norway, on 1 Dec 1890, she is buried in Berlevåg, Tana, Finnmark, Norway. In her marriage to Wilhelm Fredrik Wrested, she had a son, Lauritz Oluf Wrested, born in Berlevåg on 8 Feb 1838, baptized in Tana on 14 July 1839. His godparents were: Else Sophie Schanck, Miss Amalie Petrine Ulich, Even Saxlund, and priest Johan Fritzner. He was confirmed in 1856, he later got married to the Sami girl, Inga Aslaksdatter from Karasjok, Finnmark, Norway. They lived in Berkestrand and they had 6 children.
There seems to be a discrepency in the death date in William. He died 28 Sep 1842, and had a son born in 1850??
Maybe he died in 1852, a type error.
